Property Info & Policies

VENUE POLICIES

We strive to host the most blissful wedding day you could ever imagine! The following policies are not only to protect our liability but also to protect your peace.

Ceremony

  • Due to the slope of the grounds, we don’t allow alternative setups for the ceremony. Trust us, we’ve tried it before!

  • We ask that any flower children only toss lavender or green herbs. Flower petal scattering, confetti tossing, feathers or rice are not permitted. Flower girls may sprinkle a few large petals only, and every petal must be picked up by an assistant if you choose to do so. If any of these policies are violated, a cleaning fee will be taken from your security deposit to cover the extra labor.

  • Dogs are welcome to attend the ceremony ONLY and must be on leash at all times. They are not permitted to be anywhere else on the farm. See our preferred vendors list for awesome caretakers for your fur-babies. Service animals are permitted with advance notice.

Reception

  • Cigars are allowed, but only outside in the smoking area.

  • We’ve tried them and unfortunately, champagne towers are not an option.

  • Due to fire security, sparklers, sky candle lanterns and other open flames are not permitted at the farm. Bubbles or led lanterns are a great alternative if you’re planning an exit.

Transportation.

  • Providing transportation as an option “home” for your guests is required of all weddings. If you have 150+ guests, then transportation is required both ways. Advance booking of departure transportation is highly recommended. See our preferred vendors list for who to book with.

  • Clients are required to provide some form of alternate transportation home for guests who may have had too much to drink .

  • Early departures can be coordinated day-of with Kristen, as Uber does not operate in The Gorge.

  • All vehicles left overnight need to be picked up by 10am sharp the following day or a late fee will occur for extra labor.

DECOR TIPS + RESTRICTIONS

Your venue is exploding with natural beauty, living florals and artistry architecture. . . you really don't need much!

  • You’ll want to think about potential floral arrangements for your welcome table, ceremony and dinner tables — choosing a local florist who has a lasting relationship with the farm will best suit your time and  budget.

  • Consider minimal signage and items that are meaningful or symbolic to you. For example, paying homage to family and love stories that came before your own with an altar of framed memories.

  • Individual escort cards and assigned seating are NOT recommended. Listing guests by table is the best way to designate seating. Escort cards can easily blow away and are a bit formal for the family style dining environment. This type of decor prompts and added assistant.

  • Use sturdy vases — the shorter and wider the better. Make sure the flowers aren’t too tall and top heavy to withstand a breeze. Keep in mind, Ginger’s platters take up quite a bit of space on the tables, so keep the flowers pretty contained.

  • For candles - you can have votives and pillars in glass only. No tapers.

  • The most “eco” way of doing your table assignments is to utilize the clothespin display - We recommend printing on 8x10 pieces of paper (for up to 12 tables) and 5x7 pieces of paper (for up to 20 tables) - see photos!

RENTALS + FURNITURE

  • We recommend using local rental companies, as folks in Portland are not always accommodating to the pick-up schedule required by MHOF.

  • Since the grass is vulnerable in high use areas, all large rental orders will need to be cleared by Brady. For example, rugs and metal bases on things like arbors and flower arrangement can mark and damage the grass and only one rental “lounge” set of furniture is allowed.

  • We can not place or move any furniture or large items, so all that needs to happen by the delivering rental company. Please provide them with the property map and reference where your items will be placed.

Remember that all rentals will need to be picked up the night of by 10:30pm.
